“Transmission” is the story of passing the torch: Odile and Pierre passing on their savoir-faire to Augustin, the fruit of their life's work. As a symbol, these grapes come from both young and old vines. For us, the blending of generations is often the most surprising, the most balanced and, above all, the most valuable.
The cuvée is a blend of young vines (5-10 years old) and old vines (40-50 years old), equally divided in size: 2 acres of each. The idea is to find a balance between roundness and acidity. The old vines provide generous, round profiles, while the young vines offer fresher, livelier wines.
Body: medium
Dry/fruity: dry
Acidity: balanced
Dishes: the wine goes well with all kinds of seafood such as oysters, shellfish, fish and seafood. It also goes well with firm cheeses such as Chavignol crottins.
The domain
Château de Quincy is a historic winery located in the commune of Quincy, in the department of Cher, France. The château, built in the 17th century in Louis XIII style, has been classified as a historical monument since 1992.
The domain's wine tradition dates back to ancient times, with a 17th-century wine cellar attesting to this rich history. In 1926, the Château's vineyards were uprooted, but about 80 years later, around 2006, Odile Ponroy restored the estate by replanting the old plots. Her son, Augustin, took over leadership of the family business in 2021.
The estate produces wines under the AOC Quincy, one of the oldest appellations in the Loire Valley (Vallée de la Loire), made exclusively from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. The vineyards benefit from sandy and gravelly soils, ideal for the expression of this grape variety.
Château de Quincy is a family business that spans generations, where tradition and innovation come together to produce wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Quincy appellation.

The grapes are harvested at the beginning of over-ripening, a deliberate choice typical of the estate. This moment produces ripe, aromatically expressive grapes, while maintaining freshness.
After careful vinification, the wine matures for 4 to 6 months on fine lees (the fine yeast cells remaining after fermentation). This ageing adds subtlety, texture and depth, supporting the balance between liveliness and roundness.
The result is an elegant Quincy, reflecting the heritage of the estate and the fresh energy of the new generation.
